SUMMARY:Perry Fine Arts Concert - Red Cedar Chamber Music
DESCRIPTION:Perry Fine Arts Concert - \n\n\n\nThe Perry Fine Arts series will be presenting RED CEDAR CHAMBER MUSIC in the Perry Performing Arts Center. Red Cedar's core ensemble members are violinist Miera Kim and cellist Carey Bostian. Exciting young artists Alex Norris\, violin\, and Donghee Han\, viola\, join the core ensemble in a program of string quartet music by composer-in-residence Michael Kimber. They explore the physics of sound with a piece written only in harmonics\, the relationship of color and texture in music and visual art through a piece inspired by art works by Monet\, Van Gough\, Kandinsky\, and Wood\, and tell the story of Western Music from 100 AD to 2022 through music and words. Their Rural Outreach Concerts enrich small/rural communities with live chamber music. The concerts have been funded by the National Endowment for the Arts for 18yrs. Red Cedar is known for commissioning and premiering new chamber music works\, having commissioned more than sixty works since 1997.
