Hispanics United for Perry (HUP) will hold its annual Las Posadas Celebration on Thursday, December 21st from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Las Posadas is a traditional Hispanic Christmas celebration that re-enacts Joseph and Mary’s search to find a room at the inn for the baby Jesus to be born. The celebration will begin with an ecumenical service at First Christian Church at 6pm. After the ceremony, there will be a procession and caroling down 2nd Street. Dinner will be served starting at 7pm at the First United Method Church, along with a kids activity hosted by Perry Public Library.
A free will offering will be collected to support HUP scholarships for graduating high school seniors.
