35TH ANNIVERSARY BIKE RIDE
Join us for the 35th Anniversary Bike Ride on the Raccoon River Valley Trail (RRVT) on April 27th! This event coincides with National Celebrate Trails Day, making it the perfect opportunity to pedal through the serene natural beauty of the RRVT's paved trail.
Dr. Richard Deming, the medical director of MercyOne Richard Deming Cancer Center in Des Moines and founder of Above + Beyond Cancer, will lead the 35-mile round trip ride from Dallas Center to Perry. His passion for cycling and dedication to uplifting cancer survivors align perfectly with the spirit of this event.
Time: The ride starts at 12 noon. Gather by 11:45 AM at the trailhead in Dallas Center, located in Heritage Park at 14th St. and Walnut St. next to the downtown business district.
Route: It's a round trip ride starting in Dallas Center and heading to Perry. Upon reaching Perry, we'll connect to the High Trestle Trail. While the High Trestle connection is still in progress, riders are welcome to enjoy the completed sections.
Cost: Participation is free, and no registration is required. All riders will receive a complimentary RRVT koozie.
Other Information: This is not a race; riders can go at their own pace and choose their preferred distance. Food and drinks are available at businesses along the trail in Dallas Center, Minburn, and Perry. Helmets are strongly encouraged for everyone's safety.
Whether you're an experienced cyclist or just looking for a scenic outdoor adventure, this ride is suitable for riders of all levels. Bring along your bike, gather your friends and family, and join us for a day of cycling on the RRVT to celebrate National Trails Day.
