Groundskeeper & Light Maintenance

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Mows, trims, weeds, mulches, and maintains the cleanliness of the grounds and parking lots at all DCH facilities in Perry.
2. Daily trash pickup of grounds and outdoor trash bins.
3. May include minor landscaping projects.
4. Performs snow and ice removal for the grounds and parking lots at all DCH facilities in Perry.
5. Performs minor maintenance and repair duties as directed.
6. Assists with floor maintenance in all areas.
7. Pesticide applicator and documentation.

In addition to the functions described above, this role may include other responsibilities and duties as assigned on occasion, based upon Dallas County Hospital needs or requirements.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Education/Experience:
High School graduate required. Mechanical aptitude required.

• Technical Skills:
Must be able to maintain lawn care equipment. Utilizes sound troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques; and has the ability to read and follow directions.

• Other qualifications/certificate/license:
Must be 18 years of age to run lawn/snow removal equipment. Must possess valid Iowa Driver’s license and be insurable. Certified Pesticide Applicator (Core, 3T, 6) to be obtained within 6 months of hire.

• PC Competencies:
Must demonstrate an understanding and working knowledge of the Windows Environment and ability to access and use information from security and fire systems.

• Behavioral Competencies:
