The Perry Chamber of Commerce is seeking a reliable, energetic self-starter who is highly motivated to assist in enhancing its member promotions and destination marketing efforts. In addition to being an integral team member in the planning, execution, and promotion of annual events, activities, and programs, the selected candidate will develop and maintain communication campaigns to support the organization’s strategic goals.

In addition to being an integral team member in the planning, execution, and promotion of annual events, activities, and programs, the selected candidate will develop and maintain communication campaigns to support the organization’s strategic goals.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Coordinate planning and logistics of annual community events as well as assisting in day-of execution
- Manage member and community communications including e-newsletters and event reminders, weekly CHAT sheets, press releases and promotions, as well as website updates
- Assist in Member Relations, communicating the benefits and privileges of Membership and Partnership, and ensuring Members receive maximized value for their investment
- Develop marketing materials for the organization
- Create, implement, and monitor content on all social media platforms
- Additional tasks as assigned by the Executive Director
Skill Requirements:
- General knowledge of Chambers of Commerce and/or Perry Community preferred
- Detail oriented with ability to prioritize, plan, and organize
- Critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and implement the best solutions
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional interpersonal/customer service skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor with the ability to build trust and strong relationships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher, as well as Google Docs and Sheets
- General knowledge and experience with digital marketing and social media platforms
- Basic skills in photography and video production preferred
- Some familiarity with Spanish language basics or willingness to learn
Qualifications: Employment Standards:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, event planning, or related field preferred, with at least two years’ experience in similar position
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
- Capable of lifting 25 pounds; ability to work in a variety of weather and temperature conditions
