3/19/2024 Fireworks Drive Continues with Firecracker 4

Perry Chamber Continues the 2024 July 4th Fireworks Drive
Big Boom Bracket Battle Firecracker 4 Announced

Perry, March 19, 2024
The second round of the Big Boom Bracket Battle brought in just shy of $1500 for the Perry Chamber of commerce's annual fireworks drive for the community's 4th of July fireworks display, bringing tot fundraising efforts to $3819.05!  After a second week of collecting donations for the bracket style context the Chamber has announced who will be advancing as the Firecracker 4!
“The second round is always a bit lighter than the first round,” explains Lynsi Pasutti, Executive Director of the Perry Chamber of Commerce.  “There are half as many contestants and sometimes a lot of effort went into making it past the first round.  To be expected, quite a few last minute donations came in within the last hour, so it is fun to see how the final standings shift at the end, with a couple very close matchups!”

The Firecracker 4 advancing to the next round are:
                (1) Sgt. Alex Lott, Perry Police Department vs. (4) Jackson VanKirk, Progressive Foundry
(7) Ivette Drahos, The Lazy Goose vs. (11) Jayde Fellom, Blonde Sisters Boutique

“We would like to thank everyone that has donated to the fireworks drive so far,” Pasutti adds. “It all adds up – even the spare change in the collection jars at Ben’s and the Rec.”

Donations for the third round of the contest will be accepted now through Tuesday, March 26th at 11am, and then the Final Showdown will begin that same day at noon. Online donations can be submitted at GiveButter.com/Perry-Chamber-Foundation and in-person donations will be collected at the McCreary Community Building (1800 Pattee Street), Ben’s Five & Dime (1221 2nd Street). Donations may also be delivered to the Perry Chamber of Commerce at 1124 Willis Avenue or mailed to PO Box 472, Perry, IA 50220.

The Big Boom Bracket Battle is a bracket-style contest, matching up community members in four weeks of ‘head-to-head’ contests as a fundraiser for Perry’s 4th of July fireworks display. Advancement in the bracket is determined by donations from the community, accepted online, by mail, and at various locations in town. The ultimate winner will be rewarded with a pie in their face in April, along with bragging rights and a traveling trophy.
