How will you have an impact in this role?

This person is responsible for learning and understanding how to support the Location Manager in achieving the safety, employee engagement, preventative maintenance, financial performance, inventory quality and count, and overall customer experience of a Landus facility thru the support of grain and agronomy operations. 

 

What will you do?

  • Assist in coordinating the functions of all assigned locations to ensure the inventory, equipment and assets are being utilized.
  • Participate in the strategic planning discussion of region and facility expectations.
  • Coordinate project management as needed.
  • Learn how to control inventory; shrink, non-billed products and services, theft, damage, aging, and deterioration.
  • Assist with the short/long-range planning for region development.
  • Provide innovative ideas, related to continuous improvement of products, services, facility expansion, acquisitions, and people.
  • Learn and understand how to provide recommendations to the budget for regional operations related to department and sales goals, income and expenses, and capital expenses.
  • Support each assigned location to ensure compliance with all company, state and federal policies and regulations.
  • Assist with ensuring each location manages rolling stock in accordance with Landus Cooperative’s policies.
  • On a monthly basis, learn the necessary changes to the annual maintenance capital expenditures for each location.
  • On a monthly basis, review the P&L status to learn and understand it.
  • Champion of safety compliance throughout organization.
  • Assist with attracting, hiring and retention of location employees
  • Assist with ensuring operators are properly trained.
  • Assist with continuously developing Landus Cooperative’s staff.
  • Assist with the training and developing the Location Personnel to sustain day-to-day operations in a manager’s absence
  • Assist with managing the day-to-day operations of assigned locations
  • Assist location managers with locations Goals and Objectives
  • Assist with the evaluation of the performance of key equipment.
  • Assist transportation in the movement & placement of inventory.

 

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

 

  • Degree from an accredited 2 or 4-year post-secondary program preferred.
  • Six months to a year of related experience.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Must be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Other Skills that will help you succeed:

  • Must have or be able to obtain a Class A CDL with air brake, tanker, and HazMat endorsements.
  • Participate in company DOT drug and alcohol program and maintain current DOT physical.
  • Understand the seasonality of an agricultural cooperative and the in-season time commitment.
