We are seeking a motivated individual who can coach and lead a team of shop technicians while performing maintenance, repairs and maintaining accurate accounting in parts inventory. *Some nights and weekends will be required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Includes but not limited to the following:
- Directly supervises 1-2 shop technicians.
- Coordinate the activities of shop technicians in the diagnosis and repair of medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
- Review performance of shop technicians and submit report to the Director of Logistics.
- Ensure payroll and accounts payable are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain records for all repairs, maintenance, and inspections on all trucks and trailers in the shop.
- Manage the repairs and preventative maintenance, ensuring that the necessary numbers of fleet vehicles are always available.
- Review and analyzes expenditure, financial, and operations reports to determine need for increase in fees, or expansion of existing schedules.
- Ensure compliance with government rules and regulations; files paperwork in support of compliance as needed.
Education and experience needed:
- Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Class A CDL with required endorsements or able to obtain one and maintain.
- Current DOT physical preferred.
- High School graduate or GED required.
- Diploma from Technical College or equivalent experience required.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills required.
- 2 years’ experience in heavy-duty truck repair.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
