We are seeking a motivated individual who can coach and lead a team of shop technicians while performing maintenance, repairs and maintaining accurate accounting in parts inventory. *Some nights and weekends will be required.

             

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Includes but not limited to the following:

  • Directly supervises 1-2 shop technicians.
  • Coordinate the activities of shop technicians in the diagnosis and repair of medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
  • Review performance of shop technicians and submit report to the Director of Logistics.
  • Ensure payroll and accounts payable are completed accurately and on time. 
  • Maintain records for all repairs, maintenance, and inspections on all trucks and trailers in the shop.
  • Manage the repairs and preventative maintenance, ensuring that the necessary numbers of fleet vehicles are always available. 
  • Review and analyzes expenditure, financial, and operations reports to determine need for increase in fees, or expansion of existing schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with government rules and regulations; files paperwork in support of compliance as needed. 

          

Requirements

Education and experience needed:

  • Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
  • Class A CDL with required endorsements or able to obtain one and maintain. 
  • Current DOT physical preferred. 
  • High School graduate or GED required.
  • Diploma from Technical College or equivalent experience required.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills required. 
  • 2 years’ experience in heavy-duty truck repair.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
